Orlando, FL – The Hornets (15-6) defeated Colonial (7-14), 53-50, on Wednesday night in a home, non-district game. Down two at the half, Bishop Moore used a strong 3rd quarter to take a 5 point lead going into the 4th quarter.

Hunter C. scored 15 of his game high 24 points in the 2nd half. The Hornets went ahead 49-48, with 90 seconds remaining when Kyle K. drove the lane and kicked to J.P. L. in the corner for 3 of his 12 points. Colonial answered with a layup to momentarily reclaim the lead, but Bishop Moore went up for good as Hunter C. connected on 4 free throws in the final minute. The game was over when Cole N. stole the Colonial inbounds pass and the clock expired.

In the early games of the Colonial triple-header, the JV team (9-8) lost 36-26. Keyshawn H. led the JV scorers with 9 points. The Freshman team (12-6) won 56-48 behind Luc M.’s season high 25 points. Ben C. also scored a season high 16 points and secured 9 rebounds.

The Freshman have a home game against The Villages Charter School on Thursday at 4:30pm, and the JV and Varsity teams play next on Friday at home against Astronaut at 5:30pm and 7:00pm.
