Multiple Teams · BMC Football Loses a Tough Battle to Seminole

The Bishop Moore Football team lost to Seminole High School Friday night 25-34. The Seminoles struck first after a failed field goal attempt in the first quarter. The Hornets retaliated with a touchdown, but the extra point was no good after bouncing off the goal post. Jake K. faked a punt and ran it for a first down with only 2 minutes left to go in the second half. With only 20 seconds left in the half, Jake K. snagged the ball in the corner of the end zone make the game 13-7, Hornets on top. The seminoles struck back with a touchdown in the third quarter. The Hornets took a risk by running the ball on fourth down early in the fourth quarter. This move paid off as the team was able to move the chains with a first down. Zac S. made a big run into the end zone after that, but the team was unable to earn the two point conversion. Bishop Moore scored once more and once again missed another two point conversion. The game ended with an interception from the seminoles with a final score of 25-34, with the Seminoles in the lead. This was the final home game for the varsity team. Hornets will go on the road next week as they start their run in the state playoffs.
