The Bishop Moore Women’s Varsity Basketball team preserved their perfect record in district play, defeating the Leesburg Yellow Jackets 49 – 20 Tuesday night.
The Hornets relied on a balanced attack offensively with no players reaching double figures but all players scoring in the Home matchup. Freshman Zeli R. and Senior Reilly B. were both perfect from 3 point range in the game. Zeli led all scorers with 9 and Sophomore Kasey J. went to work in the post putting up 8 hard earned points.
It was the Hornets stifling defense that enabled them to jump out to an early first quarter lead, and from there the Hornets never looked back finishing the first with a 22-0 margin. The win puts the Hornets at 6 and 0 in district play looking forward to the all-important seeding process in the District Tournament.
Thursday night sees the Hornets on the road for another district match-up down South at Poinciana.
