ROCKLEDGE, FL – The Boys Basketball team’s (23-5) season came to an end Thursday night at Rockledge (25-3), 61-38, in the 6A Regional Quarterfinals. Playing against a very talented team in a hostile environment, the Hornets came out with great energy and focus and trailed by just 2 points after the 1st quarter. But the Hornets went cold from the floor in the 2nd quarter, while the Raiders took control on a barrage of 3-point baskets and went into halftime up 26-10.
The Hornets played competitively with the Raiders the entire second half, but could never make a significant dent in the lead. Jess H. found his rhythm and connected on a series of 3-point shots to spark the Hornet offense. He finished with 14 points and 2 steals on the night. Hunter C. scored 8 of his 9 points in the second half, to go along with 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 3 steals. Cole N. added 5 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists, while Emil A. chipped in with 5 points and 8 rebounds.
The Boys Basketball season is now complete, and we want to thank all of the families, volunteers and fans who came out to support our teams throughout the year. We could not have been as successful this year without all of your support all year long. Thanks again, and we will see you in November for tryouts!
